Experience and Education

After the Amadeus acquisition of ICM & Vedaleon, Vedaleon was positioned in the travel unit working on the now titled; Amadeus Flow, building and maintaining the passenger self service and processing sector of the business for airlines and airports.

My work as the travel unit UX designer, I collaborate with cross-functional teams to address intricate issues, from ideation to implementation across products ranging from biometrics, check-in kiosks and self-bag drop.

My responsibilities included everything from research, user interviews, testing, right through to design, animations and assisting developers by building and maintaining the front end of each application.

During my time at Vedaleon, prior to the Amadeus acquisition, I worked across all teams to address creative and complex issues to create bespoke solutions for some of Australia’s biggest airlines and airports.

These products ranged from passenger processing applications, self-bag drop and check-in kiosks, to web applications and corporate websites. Web applications were utilised for ecommerce, booking management and airport operations software solutions.

At Havealook websites I was charged with managing and educating the other designers, approving their designs while also working closely with clients to ensure satisfaction rates. I also was given the opportunity to improve their custom CMS capabilities and implement new features that customers could utilise as extras or improvements.

Once graduating from university to gain real world experience, I decided to begin freelancing. With a broad range of clients over the years, I have used freelancing to improve my skills at design, development, and client relations. Today, I take on a limited number of projects at one time. This quality control means I can give each one exactly what it needs – focus and time.

I successfully completed a User Experience Design course offered by RMIT University through their online platform. This comprehensive course provided a valuable opportunity for me to validate my prior experience in user experience research while further developing my skills in the field. It covered essential aspects of UX design, including user research, interaction design, prototyping, and usability testing.

By leveraging this course, I strengthened my understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, empowering me to create highly intuitive and user-friendly digital interfaces.

I successfully completed the Diploma of Graphic Design & Communication at Grenadi School of Design from 2007 to 2009. This comprehensive university degree provided me with a solid foundation in graphic design and web design. The program encompassed all the necessary skills and knowledge required for these fields, including photography and illustration.

Throughout the program, I gained expertise in visual communication, typography, layout design, and digital media. This educational experience equipped me with a diverse range of technical and creative skills, enabling me to deliver impactful and visually engaging design solutions.

In addition to my formal education, I have pursued further education through online platforms like Udemy and Team Treehouse to expand my skill set. With a strong focus on web development languages and web accessibility, I have completed several courses to stay updated with the latest industry trends.

These courses have equipped me with practical knowledge in technologies such as React, Angular, and PHP for WordPress. By understanding these frameworks, I have gained the ability to create dynamic and interactive web applications while ensuring optimal performance and user experience.

Furthermore, I have developed expertise in implementing web accessibility principles, ensuring that websites I design are inclusive and accessible to all users. This continuous pursuit of knowledge has allowed me to create engaging and accessible web experiences using cutting-edge technologies.
